Pl. 01 · The place

Seventeen acres of forest, wrapped around the river.

The Enchanted Forest is seventeen acres of old-growth forestland with three hundred feet of Sandy River frontage — both banks are part of the property. Every campsite is a short walk in from the parking area (wheelbarrows and carts are provided), which is exactly what keeps it quiet: no road noise, no neighbors you can see, just the river and the firs.

The driveway in from Marmot Road is part of the original Oregon Trail, preserved by the Bureau of Land Management. Bring a paddleboard or kayak when the river's running. You're two miles from the Sandy Ridge mountain-bike trails, twenty minutes from Government Camp, and about thirty-five from Timberline.

Pl. 02 · Where you'll stay

Four ways to be on the river.

Three walk-in tent sites and a riverside cabin, each its own distance in from the parking area. Choose one to see what it's like.

Once you walk down the hill, it's like a different world.

Easily one of the best camping experiences we've had. Absolutely stunning walk to the cabin, and our own private beach.

Truly an awesome location — very unexpected. Once you walk down the hill, it's like a different world.

I'm obsessed with this Hipcamp and have stayed here three times. I always bring at least one of my dogs and they love the property.

A beautiful spot right by the river. We truly had the best weekend.

Joshua opened the forest to campers in 2023 — both banks of the river, the old trail, the firs he's walked for years. He keeps it simple: carts at the lot, a propane fire pit at each site, and the rest left the way the land wants it. Bring a dog. Bring a board. He'd rather you hear the river than him.
